After a long time away from cycling WaldenTRI President Derek Jones began riding again on the very first day of the lockdown back in March using a turbo trainer. He progressed from 45 minute steady sessions to long, three hour endurance rides. On Sunday 12th July he completed 100km/62.5 miles on his turbo trainer in support of Cambridge Global Health Partnerships, a charity which Derek helped to found, which supports and enables NHS staff to deliver medical aid and expertise in developing countries. At the age of 76 this was his longest ever ride! Very well done Derek. An inspirational effort! Keep on cycling! FREE WaldenTRI technical T-shirts coming soon!
The idea for these T-shirts is for club members to wear them regularly (not hide it at the bottom of the draw!) and be recognisable as being part of the club.
The first batch has been ordered and priority will be given to those who attend regular training sessions, coaches, and those who play an active part in the club in other ways.
