Brand theft is alive and well! For those that crossed the finish line at the Vitruvian....a middle distance event...you were treated to a roar of 'You are a Vitruvian' in a way that had just an ounce or two of Britishness thrown in. I suppose if they had chucked in the word 'Man' they would have been a little too close to the real deal...

Satisfaction seems to be guaranteed for me at St Neots. I kicked my Tri season off there doing a sprint, for fun, in May and bagged myself my first ever 3rd place AG result. RESULT. Wind the clock forward and just this last weekend I hit the roads of Cambridgeshire again in an Olympic distance (of sorts) Tri and notched myself up the ladder to secure a very satisfactory 2nd AG result. RESULT.

The Forestman iron-distance tri was my number-one race for this year, and turned out to be my best ever. It's a smaller event held in the New Forest each year, with an undulating bike ride and hilly trail run.
Following a first attempt at iron-distance last year I had a good feeling about this one. Everything was better this time around - swim technique, bike power, diet, body-fat, fuelling, run speed and general endurance. I chose the New Forest tri as it's a beautiful area and a really well-liked, if tough, event. The front-runners' times are towards one hour slower than those for a fast ironman such as Roth, with only one athlete (Hywel Davies) to have gone sub-10 hours.
